Yes, I took my sweet ass time to deliver another 90’s vampire movie but isn’t my sweet ass worth waiting for? Haters to the left. Dir. Guillermo Del Toro Starring: Federico Luppi, Ron Pearlman and Claudio Brook To my mind, I feel that Guillermo Del Toro’s first full-length feature film “Cronos” is one of the … Continue reading

It feels weird to me that I never actually watched this film when it came out, the trailer was on all the VHS tapes I rented. I pretty much saw the trailer every week, and probably more than once and it looked cool. The subject felt up my alley as well, films with religious themes … Continue reading

When Marcey asked me to do a weekly coverage of Showtime’s brand new thriller/horror offering aptly named “Penny Dreadful” saying it was right up my dark alley, I knew I had to do some reading on it and what can I say? “Penny Dreadful” is what I am all ABOUT my friends! Taking place in … Continue reading

It has been a long time since I have seen 1994’s WOLF, I remember when it came out I wasn’t allowed to watch it, so I snuck the VHS away and watched it. It didn’t have much of an impact on me at that young age, because a lot of it did go over my … Continue reading

A classic 90s horror/sci-fi film is THE LAWNMOWER MAN, this was a film that was talked about back when it was released due to its use of computer graphics and virtual reality. In the 90s, Hollywood had an obsession with virtual reality, there are a number of films with that as a core component, oh … Continue reading

90’s Horror Movie Month continues with my live tweet session of the classic CANDYMAN! @supermarcey Ok let’s do this thing – live tweeting #CANDYMAN This film when I first saw it in the 90s really got to me, it was and still is scary and very unsettling. #CANDYMAN Based on a Clive Barker short story … Continue reading
This is one movie I’ve been salivating to cover on this site for some time now and finally I can! “John Carpenter’s Vampires” holds the distinction of being one of my supreme favourite “great bad movies” due to it’s offensive humour, questionable characters and overall spitting upon good taste. However, to it’s credit, the movie … Continue reading

I have a confession to make, the VHS box art for BODY PARTS scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. The box for the VHS just freaked me out and I was too scared to want to watch it. That was the beauty of VHS, the covers! Especially when it came … Continue reading
GuuuuhREETINGS! So, rather than kill my Facebook page with my Follies, I decided to make the move to Twitter in order to do a blow by blow film review/snark-fest. And what better film to christen it with than Paul W.S. Anderson’s promising directorial debut “Event Horizon”! While uneven and highly derivative, it offered a good … Continue reading

Ever since I first discovered THE EXORCIST III it has been one of my favourite horror sequels, but one of my favourite horror films. This is a genuinely terrifying film, with top notch performances and a very interesting link to the original film (aside from William Peter Blatty). I’ll say this now if you have … Continue reading
