Welcome to a brand new Podcast series from The Super Network with The Ozploit Cast! This podcast series is all about Ozploitation Cinema! If you don’t know what that is, it is exploitation films from the land Down Under! That’s right, Australia from the 70’s to now have been making exploitation films from all genres with horror, comedy, sc-fi, thriller, erotic and action to name a few.

So please sit back and join your lovely Aussie hosts ‘Super’ Marcey Papandrea and ‘The Terrible Australian’ Bede Jermyn as they kick off this new series with perhaps one of the best known Ozploitation films Wake In Fright (1971).

Wake In Fright was one of the very earliest films to be classified as Ozploitation, it was based on the book of the same name from author Kenneth Cooke and released in 1961. Along with the original film, we will also discuss said novel, and the television miniseries that was released in Australia in 2017.

Highlights include:

* Introducing Ozploitation and the new podcast!

* Yes, seriously! Donald Pleasence is in this film!

* Does the casting of the 1971 film add to the outsider themes?

* All the changes the mini series makes, is it a good or bad thing?

* From book to script, how we found the adaptation.

* Addressing the controversy in the kangaroo hunting scene.

* Plus much, much more!
