Mini Review Day 19: Tourist Trap (1979) So I admit that the sole reason I decided to put Tourist Trap on my 31 Days Of Horror list was because I loved the one sheet. It was strange, and certainly attention grabbing, it did its job on selling me. I am actually glad to report that … Continue reading

I am not entirely sure where I even heard about this film, but I am pretty sure I added it to the list because it starred Sam Elliot. Continue reading

Mini Review Day 9: Dead Snow (2009) Dead Snow has been on my ‘To Watch List’ for quite some time, and what better time to finally tap this one than for 31 Days? I’ve heard nothing but good things about this one, and I can see why! It is a really fun and self-aware horror … Continue reading

Or the feeling we aren’t alone in the house, when we know we most definitely are (unless it’s a burglar!). Some films can leave us with a sense of paranoia after what we’ve seen, and this … Continue reading

My first thought after I was walking out of the screening was ‘scalping has never looked so artistic’. This ‘remake’ of Maniac certainly draws some of its inspiration from European arthouse horror, it really has that giallo vibe. It also draws inspiration from 70’s and 80’s exploitation, yet it aims to be more than just exploitation. Continue reading
Starring: Craig Sheffer, Anne Bobby, David Cronenberg, and Doug Bradley Directed by: Clive Barker It’s hard to think about now, but back in the mid 80s, Clive Barker was known as horror’s next big literary and motion picture giant. With his Books of Blood collections and a film called Hellraiser, he had started placing his … Continue reading
Starring: Jesse McCartney, Jonathan Sadowski and Olivia Dudley Directed by: Bradley Parker Filmmaker Oren Peli is at a crossroads in his career. After his extremely low budget and famously so frightening it even scared Spielberg into producing it Paranormal Activity opened in 2009 and became a worldwide phenomenon, he found himself being in with the … Continue reading
Welcome back to this weekly feature at SuperMarcey.com called ‘The Super Five’. This is a different take on the ‘Top 10’ or ‘List’ style features, where I take a subject and simply name five things. It isn’t a top list, just simply five things for your enjoyment! For this weeks list, I decided to go … Continue reading
