Truth be told, I have never been a big fan of haunted house stories. Sure, the occasional one will come along and knock me off my feet, but for the most part, people walking around houses seeing one thing, hearing another, doesn’t really get to me. Not to mention, these being Hollywood films, there is … Continue reading

Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark (2011) – Review by Garrett Collins
The original Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, which was broadcast on ABC television in 1973, is generally looked upon as a very sub-par film. However, it was scary enough to have made an impression on a youngster named Guillermo Del Torro. So much of an impression, in fact, that he used it as inspiration … Continue reading
Shark Night 3D (2011) – Review by Garrett Collins
Shark Night is one of those movies that is tough to review. Because, 30 plus years after Jaws warned all of us to “not go in the water,” the fear factor of shark movies really had nowhere to go. 3 Jaws sequels, Renny Harlin’s Deep Blue Sea, and a bunch of ridiculous Sci-Fi Channel movies … Continue reading

[31 Days Of Horror] Saturday The 14th (1981)
SATURDAY THE 14TH (1981) Saturday The 14th is a strange little film, it isn’t some unofficial Friday The 13th sequel, nor is it a slasher rip off. This film is its own thing, think The Monster Squad via the way of Troll 2. In short this film is fun, cheesy, campy and very dated. It … Continue reading
