Dir.: Brandon Vietti

Starring: Jensen Ackles, Bruce Greenwood, John DiMaggio, Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Isaacs and Wade Williams

Thank you Judd Winnick for making a generally unlikeable character (of your own making no less!) into one of the most fascinating villains in the Batman Rogues’ Gallery EVER. “Batman: Under The Red Hood”, despite it’s short running time is able to compartmentalize all of the most crucial elements of the return of Jason Todd back into Batman’s life as well as give us a truly compelling and confronting story that Batman is NOT the paragon of perfection that so many people want to believe him to be. Because of him, Jason Todd did not become his successor, but perhaps his greatest failure. However, from Jason’s perspective, becoming the Red Hood was the best thing that ever happened to him because he has come to understand how the world truly works and how to change it by doing dirty deeds to achieve an ideal outcome. Jensen Ackles is a revelation as Jason and to be perfectly honest… I want to see the actor physically play the role because damn, I got a kick in the ventricles listening to him inhabit the character. By the way- it’s simply not a prudent idea to give Joker a glass of water when conducting a business deal.

BT dubs: Wade Williams was uproarious as Roman Sionis aka Black Mask. Dude had me in Frankenstein stitches.
