Man, has it been a year already? Time has flown by quickly. Yep, it’s that time of year where my adoptive home town of Melbourne celebrates one of the most prestigious film festivals in Australia: the Melbourne International Film Festival (or MIFF for short). Over the course of 19 days MIFF will be showcasing over 300 films … Continue reading

If you asked me to make a list of my favourite working directors today, Edgar Wright would definitely be on that list. I’ve absolutely loved everything that he directed that he has made so far and I’m always look forward to whichever film he brings out next. BEFORE MIDNIGHT was a rather inevitable film, especially after BEFORE SUNSET, not a bad thing at all as we now have the BEFORE trilogy. The story of Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) continues, 18 years after it first started, when they met on a train and experienced a life changing night. After their … Continue reading

I’m back with another review of another submarine movie. I love my submarine movies. Why? Well for the simple reason that because they are usually set inside a submarine means that the movie has to be sold on its story and the performance of the actors. Special effects are only a tiny part of the … Continue reading

Back in 2011 a film seemed to take everyone by surprise, that film was DRIVE. Since then it feels like we have all been waiting for director Nicholas Winding Refn’s next film, well ONLY GOD FORGIVES has arrived and this one is dividing audiences more than DRIVE did. This is a quiet film, about revenge, … Continue reading

He’s in Paris, and his book is a fictional account of the night he spent with Celine (Julie Delpy). As Jesse is finishing off his talk, he looks … Continue reading
