[Review] These Final Hours (2014) by Bea Harper

Dir: Zak Hilditch Starring: Nathan Phillips, Angourie Rice, Jessica De Gouw, Daniel Henshall, Kathryn Beck, Lynette Curran and Sarah Snook Living in cinematic world where doomsday can be averted by a case of human-made deus ex machina, “These Final Hours” is a huge slap in the face to this cozy comfort. A meteor has struck … Continue reading →

[Review] There Are Monsters- Short Horror Film [2008]

Lowdown: A married couple in a small Canadian town notice an unattended child wearing a red hood in their snowy backyard and the smiles of their fellow town folk never looked so friendly. “There Are Monsters” became a full-length feature film in 2013 which dealt with an apocalyptic notion of monsters invading the globe because … Continue reading →

[Review] Don’t Move- Short Horror Film [2013]

Lowdown: A bunch of friends assemble for their regular ‘games night’. When they make the mistake of misusing an Ouija board things go to Hell and friendships are tested. What I love about some horror films is that they take the opportunity to broach common, almost mundane subjects that trouble us all … Continue reading →

[Audio Review] Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes (2014)

[Review] Click – Short Horror Film

Lowdown: A group of children play in an abandoned building with naught but a light switch. Although the concept of creepiness is subjective depending on the beholder, William Princes’ 15 minute short ‘Click’ is one of my favourite UK-based horror shorts because it doesn’t rely on make up, sensationalism and bombastic means of getting your attention. … Continue reading →
