[Bea’s Ranting Book Reviews] Hell House by Richard Matheson [by Bea Harper]

HELL HOUSE

Author: Richard Matheson

Published: 1971

Oh for the love of all cupcakes and puppies, read this book. Brutal, predatory, disturbing and highly imaginative, Master Matheson is in top form in one of his finest works. Absolutely compulsory for any fan of the haunted house/horror genre or to those who are looking for something quite different to the conventional grain that walks among us these days. Matheson has always been incredibly influential to contemporary writers and it is not hard to make out why. This one will stay with you for years to come, just as Matheson no doubt intended.
