THE CHANGELING (1980) I had been meaning to see this film for quite some time, and when I needed another 31 Days replacement, a friend brought it up and I thought I might as well finally watch this. This film turned out to be one of the genuinely creepy films that I have ever seen. … Continue reading
So way back over a year ago, we had a little podcast. An interview with then new author Mike Catalano on his debut Dropping Fear. Mike is a good friend; we met through Arrow In The Head when he was a news editor. I was very excited to chat to him about his book, I … Continue reading

GRAVEYARD SHIFT (1990) So I needed to find a replacement for Suicide Club since my DVD was faulty. I decided I would finally check out Graveyard Shift, the film that Eric Walkuski and Ammon Gilbert have been going on about since I met them. Did it live up to those oh so high expectations? You … Continue reading

PIECES (1982) Grindhouse/exploitation slasher tries to do giallo, which is one way to describe Pieces. The film I discovered after watching Going To Pieces: The Rise And Fall Of The Slasher Film is a neat little gem from that era. It isn’t perfect by any means but it is a solid watch. It is nasty; … Continue reading

SATURDAY THE 14TH (1981) Saturday The 14th is a strange little film, it isn’t some unofficial Friday The 13th sequel, nor is it a slasher rip off. This film is its own thing, think The Monster Squad via the way of Troll 2. In short this film is fun, cheesy, campy and very dated. It … Continue reading

Dark Love Right off the bat I will say that Dark Love was not an easy film to sit through. From the beginning there was just something that rubbed me all wrong about it, and sure enough something shocking happened. But that isn’t the focus of the film; it deals with the aftermath for two … Continue reading

THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE (1970) Dario Argento’s first solo directorial effort The Bird With The Crystal Plumage is an absolutely fantastic film. If you have seen his other earlier works from the 70’s and 80’s you’ll have a good idea of what to expect. The film is a classic ‘giallo’, a mystery/thriller/horror that … Continue reading
