The Dark Half (1993) was written and directed by George A. Romero, based upon Stephen King’s novel of the same name, it stars Timothy Hutton, Amy Madigan, Michael Rooker, Julie Harris, Robert Joy and Kent Broadhurst. The film is about a writer named Thad Beaumont, whose altar ego George Stark begins to take over his life. The Tommyknockers (1993) is a TV miniseries, directed by John Power, teleplay written by Lawrence D. Cohen, based upon Stephen King’s novel of the same name, it stars Jimmy Smits, Marg Helgenberger, John Ashton, Allyce Beasley, Robert Carradine, Joanna Cassidy, Traci Lords and E.G. Marshall. It tells the story of a mysterious object in the town of Haven that starts to bring strange effects to the townsfolk, writer ‘Gard’ vows to discover the mystery behind it.
