Kudos to everybody who chose to involve themselves in this movie. Considering this movie could have been DOA the moment it was released, gambles were taken, sacrifices were made and hard work was put into a project everybody believed in. Despite being over the top and downright ludicrous by principle, what saves it are the charismatic actors, crackling like bacon on a barbeque dialogue, gags and the embrace of the wacky. Guardians of the Galaxy has its hand placed over its breast as it is singing to its own anthem without apology or blame and when you take into consideration how this film could have failed, you really gotta give it up Gunn and co. for making the unlikely likely.

By the way, to complete the Mortal Kombat references, Ronan the Accuser is totally Shang Tsung and Thanos is Shao Khan. You can’t unsee it now! Hah!
