Bede’s Halloween Viewing List: My Top 10 Best & Worst Horror Films From The List

Well, Halloween has come and gone once again (even though it technically finished two weeks ago lol). If you remember from my Bede’s Halloween Viewing: 62 Horror Films In 31 Days article that I wrote last month, I said I was going to spend the month of October watching all 62 films (plus my 4 bonus ones) from list. I’m happy to report that I was able to watch pretty much nearly all of them from the list (the only ones I didn’t manage to get around to watching were THE ABC’S OF DEATH and my rewatches of both HALLOWEEN (1978) and TRICK ‘R TREAT sadly). While I did start to suffer from a bit of horror fatigue in the last few days of the month, I still had a really good time doing it and I can’t wait to do another horror marathon all over again next year for Halloween (whether I’ll be doing the exact same type of list again I’m not sure but we’ll see).

Also I promised in my article that once I was done with my list, I would back to write an article on the 10 best & worst horror films I saw during the month. Well, here it is. Sorry it took me a little long to post it up, I’ve been a bit busy the last few weeks since Halloween so I didn’t have time to write it until now. Now let’s get right onto my lists. For both of my lists, I’ve decided to included the Twitter reviews that I wrote for each film, so you’ll know what I thought of the films themselves. Enjoy!

Here are my top 10 worst horror films From my list:

10. DREAM HOUSE (2011)

“Despite its solid cast, sadly there unable to save this really boring and
predictable psychological horror film.”

9. PIRANHA II: THE SPAWNING

“You know for a film about flying killer piranhas, it really isn’t all that fun.
Lance Henriksen was the man though.”

8. BASKET CASE

“A really awful horror film that was both poorly made and badly acted. Although,
it was unintentionally funny at times.”

7. SILENT HOUSE (2012)

“Despite a good performance by Elizabeth Olsen, this was an extremely dull and
very unscary remake of 2010 film.”

6. PIRANHA 3DD

“It takes everything that made the 1st film work and makes it both awful and
tedious. David Hasselhoff is the best thing in it.”

5. WRONG TURN 4: BLOODY BEGINNINGS

“A truly awful prequel that adds nothing to the series. Plus it has the most
stupidest characters ever.”

4. TWIXT

“While the cast try their best, they can’t save this really terrible horror film
from Frances Ford Coppola. It’s a complete mess in everyway.”

3. HISSS

“Despite two decent performances and some cool creature effects, this was an
absolutely terrible horror film in every single way.”

2. THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE II (FULL SEQUENCE)

“Despite some interesting elements, this was a still a absolutely terrible and
unpleasant film.”

…and the number 1 worst horror film from my list is…

1. THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS

“A completely terrible and truly boring horror/comedy that’s neither funny nor
entertaining. I hated it!”

Well, there you have it. Those were the absolute worst films I saw that month. Now let’s move on to my best of list…

Here are my top 10 best horror films From my list:

10. WHEN A STRANGER CALLS (1979)

“A well crafted and chilling horror film with strong performances from its cast.
The opening is classic.”

9. KILL LIST

“Despite a rough first 20 minutes and rushed ending, this was an absolutely
chilling and extremely well acted horror/drama.”

8. LOVELY MOLLY

“Gretchen Lodge gives an absolutely terrific and riveting preformance in this
well made, chilling and creepy horror film.”

7. KWAIDAN

“An overlong but still a visually stunning and compelling Japanese horror
anthology film that’s both well acted and directed.”

6. THE DEVILS

“I still need more time to digest it but it’s definitely a terrific horror/drama
that’s both brilliantly acted and directed.”

5. THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (1964)

“A creepy, compelling and well made 1st film adaptation of the I AM LEGEND novel.
Vincent Price was great!”

4. PAPERHOUSE

“An absolutely terrific, engrossing and well made coming-of-age
horror/drama/fantasy. Charlotte Burke was truly fantastic.”

3. DRACULA (1931)

“A truly terrific, eerie and atmospheric horror that defintiely lives up to it’s
classic status. The cast were great.”

2. SLEEP TIGHT

“An absolutely fantastic Hitchcockianesque Spanish horror film that is
brilliantly crafted, acted, chilling and disturbing.”

…and the number 1 best horror film from my list is…

1. ANGUISH

“An absolutely fantastic and unique horror film that’s a true original of the
genre. Everything about it was just brilliant.”

Well, there you have it. Those are both my top 10 best & worst horror films I saw from my Halloween Viewing List for this year.I hope you all enjoyed reading it and I definitely can’t wait to do it again next year.
