Cast This: Justice League Film

As discussed on this week’s The Reel Thing radio show, the task was to cast a Justice League film. My idea for the film is to have it be a mixture of a dark tone yet contain humor and a lot of heart. I chose my cast according to whom I could see in the … Continue reading →

[MQFF ’12] Leave It On The Floor

Leave It On The Floor was inspired by the documentary Paris Is Burning; it is a musical with a lot of flavour and attitude! Needless to say I had a great time with this film, the soundtrack is fantastic and the musical numbers are extremely well done and assembled. The story isn’t too unique, but … Continue reading →

Unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, I am sure you’ve heard about The Hunger Games. The books are being read by just about everyone and the inevitable film adaptation has been made. But is it any good? In one word … YES! Now I haven’t read the book by Suzanne Collins, the first … Continue reading →

[MQFF ’12] Absent (Ausente) (2011)

[MQFF ’12] Absent (Ausente) (2011)

Absent (Ausente) is a film that kind of lives up to its title on the surface but when one digs deeper, it is anything but. I have to say I found this Argentinean effort to be quite interesting and it took me off guard. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from it, and the … Continue reading →

It is a very interesting documentary, and it certainly does not hold … Continue reading →

[Review] Shame

I won’t lie, the appeal of Shame for me was really the fact that this was about sex addiction and the sex addict was Michael Fassbender. As a hot-blooded woman, yes I do find Michael Fassbender extremely attractive, but I am a huge fan of him as an actor. He has been so impressive over … Continue reading →
