Welcome back to another episode of The King Zone Podcast, glad to have you all here for another chapter in this Stephen King journey with a discussion on the mini series Rose Red (2002). Like with the previously discussed mini series Storm of the Century (1999), Rose Red is an original script written by King and not previously based on his work. Super Marcey and Bede Jermyn are both back for this episode and joining them to discuss some King is first time guest of the show Barton Roberts! How does Rose Red compare to other mini series? You’ll have to listen and find out!

Rose Red (2002) is a TV mini series, made up of three parts, it was directed by Craig R. Baxley, written by Stephen King and it stars Nancy Travis, Matt Keeslar, Kimberley J. Brown, David Dukes, Judith Ivey, Melanie Lynskey, Matt Ross, Julian Sands, Kevin Tighe, Julia Campbell and Emily Deschanel.

Plot from IMDB: A college professor and a team of psychics investigate an old abandoned house. Hoping to explain some of the mysterious deaths on the property, the psychics stay in the mansion, but unleash a terrifying force that threatens to destroy all.

Plot Episode 01: A talented but eccentric parapsychologist hires a group of psychic mediums, including a teenage autistic savant with telekinesis, in order to wake up the horror in a century-old haunted house.

Plot Episode 02: The team tours the mansion. Joyce and Steve point out that the home contains many optical illusions as well as an upside-down room and a library with a mirrored floor. Members of the team begin to disappear.

Plot Episode 03: As Annie Wheaton falls and is knocked unconscious Rose Red’s windows and doors mysteriously open again, prompting Emery to suggests that Annie be killed in order to allow everyone to escape the haunted house.
