Welcome to our Podcast series from The Super Network with The Ozploit Cast! This podcast series is all about Ozploitation Cinema! If you don’t know what that is, it is exploitation films from the land Down Under! That’s right, Australia from the 70’s to now have been making exploitation films from all genres with horror, comedy, sc-fi, thriller, erotic and action to name a few. The podcast started with Wake In Fright and each episode covers five films in release order.

Bede Jermyn and Super Marcey are your hosts for The Ozploit Cast and are here for Episode 13 along with a first time guest to Ozploit but returning guest to The Super Network with Tony Michas (ImprintCast) to discuss another five Ozploitation films. The podcast is now into the early 80’s era of Ozploitation, which would see a shift in the type of films being made. The films up for discussion this episode are Pacific Banana (1981), The Survivor (1981), Mad Max 2 (1981), Lady, Stay Dead (1981) and Crosstalk (1982).

Pacific Banana Synopsis: The story of a pair of Australian pilots working for a small South Pacific airline. Paul, a wildly successful womanizer, leaving conquests at every port and Martin, sad and lonely in his search for a true love. Together, they… well, they don’t do much of anything besides chase girls on various Polynesian islands.
The Survivor Synopsis: When a pilot becomes the sole survivor of an airliner crash, he works with a psychic and a priest to unmask the culprit behind the incident and pacify the vengeful souls of the victims.
Mad Max 2 Synopsis: In the post-apocalyptic Australian wasteland, a cynical drifter agrees to help a small, gasoline-rich community escape a horde of bandits.
Lady, Stay Dead Synopsis: A Young woman is looking after her sister’s house, unaware that her sister and neighbor have been murdered by their handyman who also happens to be a serial killer.
Crosstalk Synopsis: A computer genius is confined to a penthouse after a car accident, with only a nurse to look after him. But the advanced computer systems designed to make his life easier appear to be taking control.

DISCLAIMER: Some of the films discussed in the podcast contain some much dated ideas, use terms that are offensive and mostly certainly not used today. Your hosts have done their best to be as respectful as possible when discussing these issues and have not intended any discussion to be offensive or harmful.
