Bede’s 2023 Oscar Predictions

Well, everyone. It’s that time once again. The Oscars are upon us. What a wild ride this entire award season has been these past few months. After the complete utter insanity that was last year’s ceremony with the infamous “Slapgate” incident, I honestly don’t know what to expect from this year’s awards. Seriously, between this and the whole MOONLIGHT/LA LA LAND Best Picture mix-up back in 2017, I never thought I would be alive to witness two of craziest things that have ever happened at the Oscars. That being said while the previous Oscar ceremonies of the past few years during COVID time have been quite solid, I have to say that this year’s race definitely has me more excited. The 10 Best Picture nominees in particular are the most diverse in ages in terms of type of films that are nominated. Not only did all of them managed to get released in the cinemas (even the Netflix produced one, since that had a limited release prior to dropping on the service), two of them were highly anticipated blockbusters that ended up being two of the highest grossing films of 2022 as well. If that doesn’t show that cinema is back, I don’t know what does. Even though I have a pretty good idea what is going to win Best Picture, there is a lot of other categories I’m still not quite sure about since a few of them are a toss up between a couple of nominees. However as I do every year, I’m going to try my best and nail down my predictions. So without further ado, here’s my write-up are who I predict will win an Oscar at the 2023 Academy Awards. Enjoy!
