Bede’s 2022 Oscar Predictions

Well, everyone. That time of year has arrived. The Oscars are about to be announced. I don’t know about anyone else but compared to last year’s ceremony that was held in April, it seems this year’s one has been feeling like it has been going on a lot longer than usual. Understandably given everything that has been going on the world right now with the still on-going COVID-19 pandemic and other major social/political events, the first three months of 2022 have been… Very tiring to say the least. That being said, it has made this year’s Academy Awards ceremony both exciting (mostly because there has been no real frontrunners in some categories) and even controversial (the fact the event will not be televising some categories is rather infuriating). Despite all that, I’m still excited nonetheless. After making a personal comeback last year by correctly predicting the Best Picture winner NOMADLAND after previous 5 years of getting the category wrong prior, I hope that streak continues this year. Although it’ll be a hard one since it has come down between either Jane Campion’s western THE POWER OF THE DOG and the crowd-pleasing indie drama CODA as the victor. I’ve been going back-and-fourth between these two, so hopefully my final prediction for Best Picture, along with all the other categories, is the right call. We shall see. So without further ado, here’s my write-up are who I predict will win an Oscar at the 2022 Academy Awards. Enjoy!
