Welcome to our Podcast series from The Super Network with The Ozploit Cast! This podcast series is all about Ozploitation Cinema! If you don’t know what that is, it is exploitation films from the land Down Under! That’s right, Australia from the 70’s to now have been making exploitation films from all genres with horror, comedy, sc-fi, thriller, erotic and action to name a few. The podcast started with Wake In Fright and each episode covers five films in release order,
Bede Jermyn and Super Marcey are your hosts for The Ozploit Cast and are here for Episode 8 along with special guest John Mathews (Indicator Cast & Imprint Cast) to take a deep dive into the next lot of five films from 1977 and 1978. The five films are all different with a mixture of genres from horror to western with some familiar faces in the cast.
Journey Among Women Synopsis: In colonial Australia, daughter of a judge helps a group of female convicts living in inhuman conditions escape. An Aboriginal girl teaches them how to survive in the forest. One of them gets killed. The group seeks revenge.
Summer City Synopsis: The exploits of four boys who leave Sydney and head out for a weekend of surfing and adventure. Unfortunately the fun takes a serious turn when they find themselves involved in a murder.
Raw Deal Synopsis: In the 1870s, the colonial administrator hires bounty hunter Palmer and gun salesman Ben to wipe out an army of Irish Catholic revolutionaries in their stronghold. Palmer and Ben recruit three gun men to help them and their mission is successful but when they go to get their payment they are trapped by treacherous officials. Ben and Palmer must fight their way to safety.
Patrick Synopsis: A comatose hospital patient harasses and kills through his powers of telekinesis to claim his private nurse as his own.
The Scalp Merchant Synopsis: A private investigator is brought in to help recover the dough that was stolen from an Australian timber company and thinks that the box the money was taken in has been hidden in a lake.
