Welcome to a brand new Podcast series from The Super Network with The Ozploit Cast! This podcast series is all about Ozploitation Cinema! If you don’t know what that is, it is exploitation films from the land Down Under! That’s right, Australia from the 70’s to now have been making exploitation films from all genres with horror, comedy, sc-fi, thriller, erotic and action to name a few.

Episode 2 is here, and moving forward each episode of the show will feature a deep dive/discussion on 4 to 5 Ozploitation films. This week join your hosts ‘Super’ Marcey and ‘The Terrible Australian’ Bede Jermyn as they welcome their very first guest to this show with The Super Network regular Beatrix Harper. It is an all Aussie show, as we take a look at The Set (1970), The Naked Bunyip (1970), Stork (1971), Walkabout (1971) and Night Of Fear (1973). Leslie Morris from Bounty Films also joins us for a special interview about The Set.

The Set Synopsis: Paul Lawrence is a working class man who dates Cara, sells shirts at a Sydney department store, and dreams of attending art school.
The Naked Bunyip
Synopsis: A shy young man is hired by an ad agency to conduct a survey on sex in Australia. The somewhat clueless young man investigates homosexuality, transvestites, prostitution, and strip clubs along with every other variant on the “norm”. While doing his interviews he meets celebrities, self proclaimed sex experts, prostitutes, female impersonators, pop stars, actors, and legislators as well as self appointed morals guardians.
Stork
Synopsis: A gangly, awkward, would-be revolutionary loses his virginity to the vivacious hippie girlfriend of his two flatmates, and becomes hell-bent on sabotaging her wedding to one of them.
Walkabout
Synopsis: Two city-bred siblings are stranded in the Australian Outback, where they learn to survive with the aid of an Aboriginal boy on his “walkabout”: a ritual separation from his tribe.
Night Of Fear
Synopsis: Insane sadistic hermit stalks and captures those who get lost in his part of the woods. A young woman whose car broke down is about to find out what he does with them next.

DISCLAIMER: Some of the films discussed in the podcast contain some much dated ideas, use terms that are offensive and mostly certainly not used today. Your hosts have done their best to be as respectful as possible when discussing these issues and have not intended any discussion to be offensive or harmful.
