While the works of legendary author Charles Dickens have been the source of many film adaptations of throughout decades, some of the most interesting takes of his novel have taken a much creative and interesting approach to them. Whether they are a full fledge musical (the 1968 Best Picture Oscar winning film OLIVER!), have a cast full of Muppets (THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL), a Disney animated film with animals as the characters (OLIVER & COMPANY) etc., each of these adaptations took a less than traditional take on these beloved Dickens’ novels to various degrees of success. The latest one to join this group is the 2021 film TWIST, which adapts the novel of OLIVER TWIST into a fast-paced modern day British crime film. The following review of the film is in an audio format. Enjoy!
