Welcome back to another edition of our special Super Podcast Audio Commentary episodes, listeners!
Your hosts Super Marcey and ‘The Terrible Australian’ Bede Jermyn are back and very late for November’s fan voted audio commentary. The film was chosen for our November commentary by our fans over at The Super Network FB Group, the subject was Nicole Kidman and To Die For (1995) won the poll. Marcey and Bede are joined by their very good friend Hayley Caldwell, who has previously joined us on some Tubi Tuesdays Podcasts.
To Die For (1995) was directed by Gus Van Sant, written by Buck Henry, based on the book by Joyce Maynard, starring Nicole Kidman, Matt Dillon, Joaquin Phoenix, Alison Folland, Casey Affleck and Illeana Douglas.
If you have never listened to a commentary, here is how it works. You simply need to grab a copy of the film, and sync up the podcast audio with the film. We will tell you when to press start, it is that easy! You can listen to it while you watch the film or listen to it on its own.
Highlights include:
* Introduction to the show/Sorry it’s a bit late!
* We go over some interesting trivia for the film.
* Bede can’t help but make Batman jokes, because of course!
* We go over our favourite Nicole Kidman films and roles.
* The film/novel was inspired by the real life murder of Greg Smart.
* Nicole was big time snubbed with no Oscar nom for this role.
* Wait, David Cronenberg has a cameo in this?!
* Plus much, much more!
DISCLAIMER: This audio commentary isn’t meant to be taken seriously, it is just a humourous look at a classic film. It is for entertainment purposes, we do not wish to offend anyone who worked on and in the film, we have respect for you all.
