Welcome to the 23rd and final edition of my 2017 Melbourne International Film Festival (a.k.a. MIFF) audio reviews. In the one, I share my thoughts on the revenge thriller IN THE FADE and the raunchy period comedy THE LITTLE HOURS.

Well, that’s it! That are all 46 films that I have seen at MIFF this year. While it was a busy and tiring two weeks for me, I had an absolute ball nonetheless. I want to thank everyone for listening all my audio reviews on all the films that I saw at the festival this year, I really do appreciate it. Be sure to check all of them out right here at this link. I can’t wait to do it again next year. Now without further ado, here’s is my list of my top 10 films that I saw at MIFF 2017. Enjoy!

10. TRAGEDY GIRLS

“An absolutely awesome horror/comedy that’s equal parts hilarious, dark, satirical, gory and entertaining.”

9. INGRID GOES WEST

“A terrific and darkly hilarious comedy that’s also a great satire on social media. Plaza was amazing!”

8. LUCKY

“An absolutely terrific character-study that’s both funny and heartfelt. Seriously just give Stanton the Oscar now.”

7. TEHRAN TABOO

“A powerful, bold and visually stunning animated film that I found truly captivating from beginning to end.”

6. MY FRIEND DAHMER

“An truly compelling, chilling and superbly made film that has a fantastic performance from Ross Lynch.”

5. BRIGSBY BEAR

“An absolutely hilarious, heartfelt and beautifully acted comedy/drama that works on so many levels. Loved it!”

4. ETHEL & ERNEST

“An absolutely fantastic animated film that’s funny, charming, moving and superbly voiced. I really loved it!”

3. I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO

An incredibly powerful, relevant and moving documentary that should be essential viewing for everyone.”

2. THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER

“It’s everything I want in a Lanthimos film. It’s dark, hilarious, intense and weird. Loved it! “

1. THE SQUARE

“This was an absolutely hilarious and brilliantly crafted satire that’s just simply fantastic on every level.”
