Marcey’s Top 5 Bond Lists

I am not ashamed to admit I am a huge Bond fan, so much so that in the lead up to Skyfall three years ago I marathoned all the films in 4 days (as soon as Quantum finished I went straight to the cinema for Skyfall). I am currently re-watching all the films again in the lead up to Spectre and believe it or not I have 4 days to do so d’oh. Whilst doing this marathon I decided I may as well do some lists with my favourites in the series.

Knowing me and how I work, these lists will likely change over time but as of now this is how I feel. One of the joys of Bond is that we all have different tastes and its fun to see what we like.

I do think my list of favourite Bond films will change as time goes on and I revisit the films, but this list has been pretty solid for the past three years and I am really happy with my order.

1.) GoldenEye

2.) From Russia With Love

3.) Skyfall

4.) The Spy Who Loved Me

5.) Casino Royale/Thunderball

This is a top 5 that is not likely to change any time soon, especially my number 1 because I think he was absolutely perfection in the role. Like with Chris’ list I have listed the film I believe was their best performance as Bond.

1.) Sean Connery (From Russia With Love)

2.) Pierce Brosnan (GoldenEye)

3.) Daniel Craig (Casino Royale)

4.) Timothy Dalton (License To Kill)

5.) Roger Moore (The Spy Who Loved Me)

The top or favourite Bond girls or Bond women is a list that I do think I will change my mind on as time goes on. Why I think this is is because they are just so awesome! Now the Bond series is known for not exactly treating women in the best way, however I think the actresses do stand out and definitely make something out of nothing. They really are mostly wonderful!

I always have loved me a villain and Bond definitely has a lot to chose from. Some are very cheesy and wacky and others are quite serious and a great force to be reckoned with. Whatever the case they are most definitely memorable and a lot of fun. This is not an easy list to pin down, but here I go.

3.) Silva (Javier Bardem) in Skyfall

4.) Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen) in Casino Royale

5.) Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Donald Pleasence/Telly Savalas) in You Only Live Twice and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service

The songs are a big staple of the Bond films and I do really enjoy them all on some level and it is so hard to actually get them down to a top 5. I have tried my best and I no doubt will change my mind after this is written hehehe.
