It was 1993 and I was six years old. My mother had taken me out for a night at the movies, I had absolutely no idea what I was going to see and then my eyes beheld the beauty that was Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster, Jurassic Park. Twenty two years and two sequels later audiences and dinosaur lovers are welcomed back to Isla Nubla with the franchises fourth instalment, Jurassic World.
The film, directed by Colin Trevorrow and executive produced by Spielberg, Jurassic World finally brings John Hammond’s vision of a fully functioning dinosaur amusement park into a reality. Back in December the world got our first glimpse of what to expect of the film with the very first teaser trailer which was greeted with massive applause and even got people talking about the final moments of the trailer which saw Chris Pratt riding a motorcycle with a pack of Velociraptors, who seemed to not be attacking him. Within the last 24hrs an second 60 second trailer for the Super Bowl has hit the internet, and not only have we been given a closer look at the new hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, but has also provided some answers regarding Pratt’s character and the raptors.
Owen, Pratt’s character is not only the parks gamekeeper but is also an expert in raptor behaviour and the new trailer showed Pratt taming three raptors before stating in the trailers final moments with this brilliant line, “We’re going after her with everything we’ve got”. Four gates swing open and the raptors burst out at full speed to joint Owen in what will end up being the films climax. Jurassic World has ranked as my most anticipated film of 2015 and this new short trailer continues to prove that it will be one of the years best blockbusters.
