The first official one-sheet debuts for Star Trek Into Darkness

So it begins – the marketing campaign for Star Trek Into Darkness has officially begun. The first official one-sheet has now hit, giving us all a little taste of what’s to come. The first trailer will hit this week also – stay tuned!

What do you think? I personally like it, it’s different for Star Trek (life long fan here) but I can’t help but notice the similarities it has to one-sheets for the likes of The Dark Knight trilogy and the Transformers series. It does give us a glimpse of something sinister going down – and that is kind of exciting.

Synopsis: In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness.

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

The film will release in Australia on May 16th 2013, directed by J.J. Abrams it stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, and Benedict Cumberbach.

I am assuming that is Mr. Cumberbach in the poster.
