Epic. That is the word to describe this! It is an epic film! Certainly did not disappoint, feels like I’ve been waiting years to see this! Daniel Day-Lewis is extraordinary, there is no one out there like him. His performance is powerful, simply powerful. Paul Dano is amazing, he holds his own and he holds it strong and well! His final scene is truly something to be seen. There are so many powerful scenes, best to not even mention them, the less you know the better it is. Paul Thomas Anderson has not disappointed me as a film-maker, this was something quite different from him and it works so well. The cinematography is stunning, you almost feel like you are right there in the oil. The music as well, another very strong point, a very powerful element in the film. Another viewing will be required down the track for sure.
