My first thought after I was walking out of the screening was ‘scalping has never looked so artistic’. This ‘remake’ of Maniac certainly draws some of its inspiration from European arthouse horror, it really has that giallo vibe. It also draws inspiration from 70’s and 80’s exploitation, yet it aims to be more than just exploitation. Continue reading
