Bede’s 2025 31 Days Of Horror Viewing List

Well, October is almost upon us and I think you know what that means: The Halloween season has arrived once again! There’s no question that as a major fan of all thimngs horror, this one of my favourite times of the year. Like many fans of the genre, I’ll be spending the entire month by watching nothing but horror films for the next 31 days. Since 2012 when it comes to my viewing list every year as part of the 31 Days Of Horror trend, I like to do something different compared to others when they do theirs. If you know me, you probably know what that is but if you don’t, let me explain. While most horror fans watch at least one horror film per day from their lists, I double the amount of ones on mine by raising it to 62 instead. You read that correctly: 62 horror films. In other words, I’ll be doing a double feature of two horror films each day throughout October. I always have a great time doing this every year since it gives me some more horror films to check out. Especially if they are ones I’ve been meaning to see. However, when it comes to my list, I do have some rules that I follow in regards to which 62 horror films I put on it:

1: All the horror films have to be ones that I have never seen before.

2: 31 of the films have to be older ones made before the year 2010 while other the 31 films have to be recent ones released in the past few years.

3: Sequels are not allowed to be included. Only stand alone films instead.

Even though it doesn’t seem like much, but these three rules make putting these lists together pretty easily. TThe one I have for 2025 is another great mixture of different horror films. For each double feature pairing, I’ve made sure to put two films together that share a common link with each other. Whether they be from the same sub-genre, share a similar story or thematic elements etc. I’ve covered all the bases of what type of horror films I’m covering this year: vampires, zombies, giallos, supernatural, slashers, psychological, horror comedies, monsters, sci-fi horror, serial killers, cults, silent horror, werewolves, Italian horror, folk horror, Hammer Horror, Asian horror and more. Outside 62 horror films that I picked, I’ll also be adding a couple of bonus films on certain days if they are being released in cinemas, making their premieres on streaming services or screening at the film festival MonsterFest. However, I’m making it a priority to watch my official 62 films that I picked for the list as the bonus films aren’t hugely essential since they’re more of a extra film to check out if I have the time to spare. Now the question remains: will I be able to watch them all? We’ll have to find out. So without further ado, here’s my complete final viewing list of every horror film I’ll be seeing in October…
