Welcome to our Podcast series from The Super Network with The Ozploit Cast! This podcast series is all about Ozploitation Cinema! If you don’t know what that is, it is exploitation films from the land Down Under! That’s right, Australia from the 70’s to now have been making exploitation films from all genres with horror, comedy, sc-fi, thriller, erotic and action to name a few. The podcast started with Wake In Fright and each episode covers five films in release order.

Bede Jermyn and Super Marcey are your hosts for The Ozploit Cast and are here for Episode 19! Joining the pair is first-guest Jason Shawhan (co-host of Fearless Pretender) to discuss another five Ozploitation films! Up for discussion this month are five films from 1986 and 1987 with Dead End Drive-In (1986), Run Chrissie Run! (1986), Sky Pirates (1986), Zombie Brigade (1987) and Cassandra (1987)! These five titles are a mixture of genres including a dystopian action satire, a thriller, a Indiana Jones ripoff, a zombie film and a giallo inspired slasher! Listen in and find out what we thought of these films!

Dead End Drive-In Synopsis: In a dystopian future Australia, a health nut and his tag-along girlfriend become trapped in a drive-in cinema that has become a concentration camp for delinquent youths and refugees.
Run Chrissie Run! Synopsis: Eve, an ex-terrorist from Germany who is forced to escape to Australia with her teenage daughter Chrissie when she is sought by Riley, a lover from 17 years in the past. In turn, the IRA has sent two members after Riley because he shot an IRA soldier and must pay the consequences.
Sky Pirates Synopsis: Harris starts for a flight to Boa Boa. But he gets lost in a supernatural storm. Home again, no one believes Harris’ story, and his crew suspiciously denies it too. Harris is thrown in jail, but manages to escape.
Zombie Brigade Synopsis: When an amusement park is built on the grounds of an old cemetery, the dead rise to take revenge.
Cassandra Synopsis: A young woman has eerie flashes of recovered memories of her brother committing a murder, despite her parents assurance that all is well.

DISCLAIMER: Some of the films discussed in the podcast contain some much dated ideas, use terms that are offensive and mostly certainly not used today. Your hosts have done their best to be as respectful as possible when discussing these issues and have not intended any discussion to be offensive or harmful.
