Welcome back to another episode of The King Zone Podcast with episode 32 and Part 2 of a 2 Part series covering the Stephen King adaptations by Frank Darabont! Part 1 covered Darabont’s dollar baby short film The Woman In The Room (1983) and his first feature length King adaptation The Shawshank Redemption (1994). For Part 2 with this episode we cover The Green Mile (1999) and The Mist (2007). The Green Mile was written and directed by Frank Darabont, based on the book of the same name by Stephen King and it stars Tom Hanks, Michael Clarke Duncan, David Morse, Barry Pepper, Jeffrey DeMunn, Doug Hutchison, Michael Jeter, Graham Greene, Bonnie Hunt, James Cromwell, Sam Rockwell, Harry Dean Stanton and Patricia Clarkson.
Plot from IMDB: A tale set on death row, where gentle giant John Coffey possesses the mysterious power to heal people’s ailments. When the lead guard, Paul Edgecombe, recognizes John’s gift, he tries to help stave off the condemned man’s execution.
The Mist was written and directed by Frank Darabont, based on the novella of the same name by Stephen King and it stars Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden, Laurie Holden, Andre Braugher, Toby Jones, William Sadler, Jeffrey DeMunn, Frances Sternhagen, Nathan Gamble, Alexa Davalos, Sam Witwer and Melissa McBride.
Plot from IMDB: A freak storm unleashes a species of bloodthirsty creatures on a small town, where a small band of citizens hole up in a supermarket and fight for their lives.
