Welcome to our Podcast series from The Super Network with The Ozploit Cast! This podcast series is all about Ozploitation Cinema! If you don’t know what that is, it is exploitation films from the land Down Under! That’s right, Australia from the 70’s to now have been making exploitation films from all genres with horror, comedy, sc-fi, thriller, erotic and action to name a few. The podcast started with Wake In Fright and each episode covers five films in release order.
Bede Jermyn and Super Marcey are your hosts for The Ozploit Cast and are here for Episode 17 to discuss another five Ozploitation films! Up for discussion this month are five films from 1984 and 1985 with One Night Stand (1984), Razorback (1984), Leonora (1984), Fortress (1985) and Max Mad Beyond Thunderdome (1985)! There are a couple of well known films in this lot, a few more obscure and one that premiered in the US on HBO before releasing in Australia!

One Night Stand Synopsis: In Australia, four teenagers in a Sydney theater are astounded to hear the news that a nuclear war has broken out in Eastern Europe. They try to figure out the best way they can survive the coming conflagration.
Razorback Synopsis: As a vicious wild boar terrorizes the Australian outback, the husband of one of the victims is joined by a hunter and a farmer in a search for the beast.
Leonora Synopsis: This movie revolves around Simon Erickson, a Grand Prix driver now turned car dealer, his wife Leonora, and the director of Simon’s new television ad, Mark. Basically, Mark and Leonora have met in a previous life and are destined to be together, no matter what.
Fortress Synopsis: After being kidnapped for ransom by four criminals, a schoolteacher and her students flee into a cave and build fortifications in anticipation of a decisive battle with their captors.
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome Synopsis: After being exiled from the most advanced town in post-apocalyptic Australia, a drifter travels with a group of abandoned children to rebel against the town’s queen.
