[Audio Review] Five Feet Apart (2019) by Bede Jermyn

If there is one genre of film that never fails to bring in an audience, it’s definitely romance. Especially ones that deal with the subject of illness. While many films have dealt with this topic for a tear-jerking romantic drama over the pass couple of decades (one of most notable films being 1970 film LOVE STORY), it’s only in recent years we’ve seen more and more of these type of films being released in cinemas with likes of THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, ME BEFORE YOU, EVERYTHING… EVERYTHING etc. While some of them have been a mixed bag with critics, they have been huge hits with audiences. The latest similar romantic drama to join this trend is FIVE FEET APART starring up-and-comers Haley Lu Richardson & Cole Sprouse, which tells the story of two teenagers with cystic fibrosis who fall in love. The following review of the film is in an audio format. Enjoy!

Director: Justin Baldoni

Cast: Haley Lu Richardson, Cole Sprouse, Moises Arias, Emily Baldoni, Kimberly Hebert Gregory, Parminder Nagra, Claire Forlani.

IMDb Synopsis: Seventeen-year-old Stella spends most of her time in the hospital as a cystic fibrosis patient. Her life is full of routines, boundaries and self-control — all of which get put to the test when she meets Will, an impossibly charming teen who has the same illness. There’s an instant flirtation, though restrictions dictate that they must maintain a safe distance between them. As their connection intensifies, so does the temptation to throw the rules out the window and embrace that attraction.
